Volunteer Registration Changes for 2012

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to share information about our application for 2012 and also about our plan to transition to an online registration process over the course of the next year. We are just finishing up Week 1 for this year and we want to talk about the application for 2012 already? Even for 2013? We think you’ll understand once you read further.

Karen Frederick, Director of Volunteer ServicesFirst of all, the application for summer 2012 is ready now, and we’ve got a fee change and payment schedule change we want to bring to your attention. The details about these changes are outlined here.

In addition, we want to let you all know that the application for the summer of 2012 will be the last paper application you will be asked to complete and mail to us. We are in the process of working towards the implementation of online registrations. As our ministry grows, we recognize how crucial it is to automate our processes for applications and registrations. The volume of paperwork we process each year is daunting. This summer the transition begins with registrations for our Adult Program Specialty Weekends. We’ll also begin the migration for the Adult/College program with the goal of January 1, 2012 for complete changeover. One year from now, we will be ready to introduce the process in time for summer 2013 applications. We will hold a series of webinar training sessions in the coming months.

These are exciting and challenging times in the Volunteer Services Department here at ASP. As we migrate from a manual process to an automated process, we will look to your input and support.
