ASP seeks an inspirational leader of mature faith to guide and strengthen this amazing ministry as it works to double the impact on lives in Central Appalachia.  The incoming President will champion the ASP mission, communicate its story, recruit volunteers, and position ASP as a regional and national ministry resource in youth and volunteer-based home repair. The President will manage a 4-member Executive Management Team and a 16-member Board of Trustees in strategic planning to guide program implementation and evaluation.  The emphasis for executive leadership will be building strategic external relationships, volunteer recruitment, and the cultivation of financial support among churches, donors, foundations, and institutions.  The President will model servant leadership, motivate teamwork, and be comfortable travelling, speaking, and communicating personal faith.  

ASP has a committed, 30-member staff based in its Johnson City complex; owns three year-round centers in Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia; and rents facilities in 27 communities for its summer youth program.  The current operating budget is $7m; net assets value $3.5M  ASP is offering a competitive salary plus generous benefits.

Program Manager

The Home Repair Ministry Department is seeking a full-time, highly motivated individual for an entry-level management position. Join a six-person team as a Program Manager. Responsibilities include hiring, training and supervising summer staff; networking within communities to establish center facilities and families to serve; assessing volunteer and staff experiences; providing spiritual leadership; and overall management of the home repair program within an identified geographic area.

This position is located in Johnson City, Tennessee and substantial travel is required. Excellent benefits will be provided. Position start date is January 3, 2011.  A bachelor’s degree and previous experience as an ASP summer staffer is required. Deadline for receiving resumes is September 30, 2010.

Tri-Cities Center Director

ASP's Home Repair Ministry Department is seeking one highly motivated individual for the Center Director position with the Tri-Cities Program. The start date for the position is January 3, 2010. Responsibilities include supervision of two Program Assistants, volunteer recruitment, construction planning and on-site supervision and management, community involvement, program development and grant proposal writing. The ASP Tri-Cities staff operates out of the Dean Building at the main offices in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Salary and benefits, which includes comprehensive medical insurance, will be discussed during the interview process. If hired, the employee must serve at least one full year in the position, although a desire for a longer commitment is preferred.
