ASP Specialty Weekends: How to Get Started

Volunteering on an ASP Specialty Weekend is a totally turn-key experience. ASP takes much of the burden of logistics off of you - from trip preparation and fundraising support, to lodging, tools, construction materials, meals and worship. 

Just sign up, get ready, and have the experience of a lifetime!

Sign Up: Apply to Volunteer 

ASP Specialty WeekendsCall our Volunteer Department to verify availability and pre-register for the weekend. Then download our Specialty Weekends volunteer application, fill it out, and drop it in the mail. It's available on ASP's website throughout the year. 

Please note: These events are limited to 50 participants. We request that you apply at least 2 months prior to the event. If enrollment does not reach 20 participants, ASP reserves the right to cancel the event.

Get Ready: Plan and Prepare for Your Trip

We provide tons of resources to help you prepare for the trip, and to study Appalachian history and culture. We strongly encourage you to get ready emotionally, mentally, and spiritually for your ASP experience. You’ll have an even better trip if you do.

Show Up: Have the experience of a lifetime!

ASP Specialty WeekendsYou will provide your own transportation to Appalachia, and our staff will take care of all the other details.

That’s all there is to it--from there it’s a matter of showing up ready to raise roofs, fix foundations, and change lives.
