Note: Along the way in NE Tennessee, there are signs when you near or enter Historic Trade, but they are very small and easily missed. Keep your eyes peeled!
From the South or East: Go through Boone, NC on US-421, continuing into Tennessee. The school is about 12 miles from the NC/TN border. The school will be about a half of a mile past Sharpie’s Restaurant on the right. Turn right onto MODOCK RD, at the sign for the Trade Mill. The school is on the right within the fenced area.
From the North: Take Interstate 81 South to Virginia EXIT 29 for VA-91 toward Damascus. Continue on VA-91 for about 26 miles (into Tennessee, following signs to Mountain City). After passing through downtown Mountain City, turn LEFT on US-421. Continue on 421 for approximately 10 miles. After entering Historic Trade, turn LEFT on Modock Road at the sign for Trade Mill. School is on the right within the fenced area.
From the West: Take I-40 East to I-81 North (toward Bristol). Take TN EXIT 69 for TN-394 toward Bristol/Blountville & turn right. Follow TN-394 for approximately 13 miles. At end of 394, turn RIGHT on US-421 toward Mountain City/Boone. For the next 30 miles, the journey will be a beautifully windy mountain road. After passing through Mountain City, continue for about 10 more miles until you reach Historic Trade. After entering Historic Trade, turn LEFT on Modock Road at the sign for Trade Mill. School is on the right within the fenced area.
These directions are for driving purposes only. Please check ASP’s website (www.asphome.org) for the mailing address of the center. Typically ASP sets up Post Office Boxes (in early June) to receive mail during the summers—for staff and volunteers. Thanks.
