Hi again! This week, we visited Wise Appalachia and Jonesville. The summer has quickly come to an end, so many memories, experiences, and God moments. Â
I want to share a special, full-circle God moment I experienced this week. But let’s rewind to Week One of the ASP summer, the very first day volunteers arrived. Every Sunday, when volunteers arrive at ASP for the week, a few people from each group, go on first-night home visits. The Jonesville staff invited me to tag along. We arrived at the home to show the volunteers their project for the week, when it started raining, but still sunny. So, I looked at the sky, and directly over the home was a full rainbow. It was so beautiful and just what I needed to see at the beginning of the summer. Rainbows to me are a happy reminder from God. I felt like it was a sign that I was right where I was supposed to be and that everything would be ok. Â
Now, let’s fast forward to Week Eight, the last week of the ASP summer. Monday morning, as volunteers were getting their materials ready for the day, a rain shower came, but again, it was still sunny. So, I looked into the sky and saw a full rainbow over the area where the town of Appalachia is. I took many photos of it and was so in awe. It was such a God moment. I sent the photos to my family, and my mom responded, “It’s a God sign. He’s saying, “Thank you!” And I believe that with my whole heart. Â
This entire summer, I have had so many God moments and amazing experiences. But seeing a rainbow at the beginning and end of the summer was truly a blessing and my favorite God moment. Rainbows are also a good reminder that God’s light still shines through even on the darkest of days. Â
So spread your wings to find God’s light everywhere in your life. Â
Until next week!Â
