The East Tennessee Hub coordinates home repair, new home construction, and disaster recovery services throughout East Tennessee and surrounding areas. Operating from our main office in Johnson City, Tennessee, the Hub serves communities within approximately a two-hour radius.
What Kind of Work Will My Group Do?
ASP projects cover a wide range of construction and home-building tasks, so there’s something for every group — whether you have years of experience or are picking up a hammer for the first time. Our team will match your crew with a repair, new build, or disaster recovery project based on your skills, interests, and the timing of active projects.
Here are some examples of the types of work volunteers may do:
- Roofing: Replacing or repairing roofs to prevent leaks and protect families from the elements.
- Siding: Installing or repairing siding to weatherize homes, improve energy efficiency, and reduce utility costs.
- Floors & Foundations: Strengthening floors and foundations to make homes safer and more stable.
- Porches & Ramps: Building or restoring porches and ramps to increase accessibility and safety for residents.
- Painting: Painting foundations, walls, or trim to give homes a fresh, finished look.
- Flooring: Installing laminate or other flooring materials as part of home finishing.
- Cabinetry & Trim: Installing cabinets, doors, and trim to complete new or renovated spaces.
- Appliances: Installing essential appliances in new build or renovated homes.
- Landscaping: Seeding and strawing properties as the final step before inspection.
- Punch-Out & Site Clean-Up: Completing finishing touches and ensuring the site is clean, safe, and ready for move-in.
No matter the task, every project contributes to ASP’s mission of making homes warmer, safer, and drier for families across Appalachia.
