Interesting Facts: Nicholas County is home to the historic Carnifex Ferry Battlefield State Park. The town of Richwood, settled in the eastern mountains of the county, is known for its annual ramp festival. If you’ve never heard of ramps before, you should look up some information on this wild vegetable. Richwood and other small towns throughout the county faced serious flood damage in the June 2016 flood.
