Home Repair Mission Trips to Central Appalachia

What types of mission trips do you offer?

Appalachia Service Project offers year-round, all-inclusive home repair mission trips for volunteers of all ages and construction experience levels.

  • Youth — Structured, week-long and weekend trips for middle and high school students, tailored for youth volunteers
  • College — Immersive service-learning experiences for students year-round, especially during fall, spring, and winter breaks
  • Adults — Customizable mission trips to fit any construction experience or time of year (repair or new build construction projects)

How much do mission trips cost?

Week-long trips (Sunday to Saturday) are $350/volunteer/week and custom trips are $70/volunteer/workday. ASP mission trips are truly all-inclusive and cover everything from lodging and food to construction materials and programming.

When are the week-long summer trips available?

Trips are available every week (minus holidays) throughout the year. Week-long summer mission trips start in June and go through August.

Where in Appalachia do you serve?

ASP serves in 25 counties throughout KY, NC, TN, VA, and WV. Our team is happy to talk with you about center location assignments.

What types of construction projects will we work on?

From ramps and roofs to painting and flooring, ASP completes a variety of home repair and new home construction projects. We’ll pair your group with projects that fit your skill level so you can roll up your sleeves and get to work.

Why ASP over other mission trips?

Since 1969, ASP has deployed more than 400,000 volunteers on mission trips throughout Appalachia, repairing more than 18,000 homes along the way. Our core focus is eliminating substandard housing by providing transformational mission trip experiences to volunteers.

Sharing our time volunteering at ASP were some of the most rewarding events/years we’ve ever done. The joy you get working with the families, kids and ASP team members is epic! It’s something you will never forget!

Words can't describe the experience I had this week. The fact that our group was able to touch the lives of so many families in Kentucky is amazing. This week I discovered the true meaning of joy through 4 year old Christian at my worksite. I experienced love in action and I am so blessed to have been a part of this trip.
