ASP Understands How Important Privacy is to Our Site Members, Donors, and Volunteers
We are committed to protecting your privacy and want to make sure that you understand how your membership information is used. No personal information given by you will be rented, sold, or shared with any other company or organization for any reason.
What Information We Collect
Information about yourself. When you sign up for site membership, we ask for basic information such as your name, contact information, and ASP history. During the registration process we give you the opportunity to connect with your friends. You will also be able to add a picture of yourself. In some cases we may ask for additional information for security reasons or to provide specific services to you.
Content. One of the primary reasons people use ASP Connect is to share content with others. Examples include when you update your status, post your stories, post a photo, post a video, share a link, make a comment, write something on someone’s Wall, or send someone a message. Some of the content you share and the actions you take will show up on your friends’ home pages and other pages they visit. You understand that information might be reshared or copied by other users. When you click on links on ASP Connect you may leave our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy statements.
Access Device, Browser Information and Site Activity. When you access ASP Connect from a computer, mobile phone, or other device, we may collect information from that device about your browser type, location, and IP address, as well as the pages you visit. We keep track of your participation on ASP Connect so we can understand our members’ interests and evaluate the effectiveness of our site offerings. We also collect demographic information and traffic data from other sources to help us learn more about member characteristics and needs. All of this information helps us better serve our members, improve our web page, and provide data for our internal evaluation needs.
Cookie Information. We use “cookies” (small pieces of data we store for an extended period of time on your computer, mobile phone, or other device) to make ASP Connect easier to use. For example, we use them to store your login ID (but never your password) to make it easier for you to login whenever you come back to ASP Connect. You can remove or block cookies using the settings in your browser, but in some cases that may impact your ability to use ASP Connect.
Connecting via Facebook. When you connect ASP Connect with your Facebook account, we will have access to your and your friends’ names, profile pictures, gender, user IDs, and any content shared using the Everyone privacy setting. ASP Connect also asks for your permission to access your email address. You can disconnect from ASP Connect by adjusting your Application Settings in Facebook.
How We Use Your Information
We do not share your personal information with any other parties. While Center Group pages are public to any site visitor, personal profile pages are visible only to site members who are logged in to ASP Connect.
Stories, photos, and videos posted to user and center group pages may be used in ASP events, campaigns, and official releases. As a user of this site, you grant and convey to ASP all right, title and interest in any and all photographic images, video records, or written statements posted to the site. You also grant permission for ASP to use these items solely for the purpose of marketing and/or education. ASP will not identify by name any minors either in print or web-based images.
By providing us with your contact information and/or registering for our website, you may receive information from us about our efforts – organizational news, additional volunteer opportunities, donation requests, etc. If you do not wish to receive information from us, please let us know by submitting a request on our Help page.
From time to time, we may use your information for new uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. We will post any policy changes to this page, and we will use for these new purposes only the data collected from the time of the policy change forward. Users may prevent their information from being used for purposes other than those for which it was originally collected by submitting a request on our Help page.
Parental Participation
We strongly recommend that minors ask their parents for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet, and we encourage parents to teach their children about safe internet use practices.
How You Can Change or Remove Information
Editing your profile. You may change or remove your profile information at any time by going to your profile page and clicking “Edit Profile.” Information will be updated immediately.
Deleting your account. If you want to stop using your account you may delete it by submitting a request on our Help page. When you delete an account, it is permanently deleted from ASP Connect.
Limitations on removal. Even after you remove information from your profile or delete your account, copies of that information may remain viewable elsewhere to the extent it has been shared with others, or it was copied or stored by other users. If you have given ASP Connect access to your information via Facebook, we may retain your information through the application Platform until you disconnect from it. Certain types of communications that you send to other users cannot be removed, such as messages.
You are welcome to review your personal information and request corrections at any time by calling (423) 854-8800.
