We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the Summer of 2020, and all programs for the upcoming fall, winter, and spring seasons! We wanted to be sure you knew what was available to you, so take a look at the programs below to find the best fit for you and your group!

ASP’S TRADITIONAL SUMMER PROGRAM

This is what we’ve been doing for 50 years. Each summer, about 13,000 volunteers from all over the country (and some from overseas!) pack up and travel to one of our 25 summer centers in Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Volunteers must have finished 8th Grade, and there must be at least 2 adults for every 5 youth who come with a group. You’ll experience transformational relationship building all while providing warmer, safer, drier homes for families in Central Appalachia. With meals, evening programming, and materials all wrapped up into our $350 per volunteer fee, all you have to do is get there.

JUNIOR HIGH AND MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM (JAM)

ASP’s JAM Program is designed specifically for Junior High and Middle School students. With meaningful construction projects and high energy programming, your 6th through 9th graders will learn what it means to have a heart of service, all while receiving basic construction training and invaluable relationship building skills. This program runs from the beginning of June through the end of July at our facility in Jonesville, VA. It’s an all inclusive program, meaning housing, meals, programming, and construction materials are covered by our $350 per person mission fee.

ASP’s Alternative Break Program provide college students the opportunity to spend their time away from campus in an impactful and purposeful way with our Year-Round home repair programs throughout Central Appalachia for Fall, Winter and Spring Breaks that will truly make a difference. Students that serve with ASP will do more than just construction; they will also connect with and learn about the Appalachian community they are serving in and will be part of a long-term effort to eradicate substandard housing in the region. Students will also be engaging in programing each evening to discuss, learn and engage with the issues of social justice, poverty alleviation, and addressing substandard housing. All backgrounds and points of view are welcome. This is also an all inclusive program, meaning housing, meals, programming, and construction materials are covered by our $70/person/work day fee.
