Center Information

Sleeping Quarters: Air conditioned classrooms. You will need to bring your own air mattress or cot, pillow and sleeping bag.

Cafeteria/Kitchens: We will use the community center’s cafeteria and kitchen. It is a separate building from the sleeping quarters, but on the same property. It is also air conditioned.

Showers: There are six indoor showers. ASP worked with the community center to build these showers in 2021!

Recreation Space: There is a gym that ASP volunteers will have access to on specific days of the week when sports teams are not using it. The cafeteria also has ample space for indoor relaxation, and, Hawks Nest State Park is just down the road!

Interesting Facts: Fayette County is home to Hawks Nest State Park, Babcock State Park, and the New River Gorge National River & Bridge. Bridge Day is an event that occurs every October where they close down the New River Gorge Bridge and have a festival that includes people jumping off the bridge with parachutes. Fayette County has a deep history of coal mining, but tourism has taken a strong hold in recent years.
